Giving NearSt access to your Shopify stock information to make it available in Google involves a few steps.

Step 1 – Create a Custom App

Shopify requires you to create a 'Custom App', which involves the following steps. Have a look at the steps below, or contact our tech team if you need help.

  1. Go into your Shopify admin dashboard and click Apps.

  2. Scroll to the bottom to a Custom apps section and click Develop apps for your store.

  3. Click Create an app. Enter ‘NearSt’ as the app name and confirm by clicking Create app.

  4. In the dashboard for your new app, click Configure Admin API scopes.

  5. Make sure to find and tick the checkboxes for the following permissions:

    1. read_inventory

    2. read_products

    3. read_locations

  6. Confirm the new permissions by clicking Save on the bottom right.

  7. Now go to the tab API credentials at the top.

  8. Click Install app and confirm by clicking Install.

  9. Copy the Admin API access token (top box - only visible once!), as well as the API key (first field in the bottom box), and share them with your NearSt contact.

Step 2 – Send your details to NearSt

Send the details above along with your domain name via email to your contact at NearSt, and we'll finish setting you up!

  • I can’t view my Admin API access token
This is only visible once after you click ‘Install app’. If you’ve done this in the past and haven’t saved the value shown in the field, you will need to uninstall the app (button on the top right) and install it again.

  • I want to group together my apparel products that come in multiple sizes
NearSt will tell Google products belong together as soon as there is a variant field called 'Size' (exact match!) present for multiple variants of the same product.
